Berggeologiska Undersökningar AB, better known as Bergab, is one of many businesses that have chosen to launch an MER project. But Bergab is by no means new to environmental activity. The company has met the guidelines contained in ISO 14001 for some time and knows the opportunities that environmental commitment offers.

Bergab has made great progress in its environmental efforts and has several projects
under way. The company regards MER as an excellent way of monitoring, following up and analysing the effects the various projects generate. Having a head office in Göteborg

as well as a very active office in Stockholm increases the need to be able to collaborate without constantly moving staff between the two cities. Travel between the two bases can be reduced by web technology, software and videoconferencing facilities.

Using MER, Bergab’s CEO, Örjan Wolff, together with its environmental manager Henrik Hellman and the MER auditor Urban Rudén, from Ernst & Young in Göteborg, have jointly produced a status report that sheds light on the company’s travel habits,environmental impact and expenses.
